Green River Lands on Whiskey Row — and Out of the Sky — with New Tasting Room and Army Tribute Bourbon
Special Release
Green River Distilling Co. is making headlines from Main Street to midair this June. On June 16, the Owensboro-born brand officially opens its new tasting room and hidden speakeasy in downtown Louisville, adding another destination to the city’s booming Whiskey Row. The 4,400-square-foot space features a cocktail bar, retail shop, music lounge, and the cleverly concealed “Dept. of Spirit Preservation” speakeasy, where visitors can enjoy elevated cocktails and interactive experiences.
But before the doors even opened, Green River made waves with a high-flying debut of its limited-edition U.S. Army 250th Anniversary Bourbon. In a dramatic “first sip” ceremony in Raeford, North Carolina, a team of veteran parachutists delivered the first bottle from the sky to a group of soldiers on the ground. The bourbon — bottled at 111.1 proof in tribute to Veterans Day — will be available starting June 14 both online and at select retailers, military bases, and Green River locations. Proceeds support soldier-focused charities, and the release honors the Army’s milestone anniversary in Green River’s iconic horseshoe bottle, proudly decked in military colors. Whether you’re sipping in Louisville or toasting to history, Green River is boldly planting its flag in bourbon country.
