Brimming Horn Meadery to celebrate fifth anniversary July 2

Mead winners for the 2022 National Homebrew Competition
The American Homebrewers Association® (AHA) - the national not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing the hobby of homebrewing—announced the winners of the 2022 National Homebrew Competition (NHC). Winners of the world’s largest amateur homebrew competition were recognized for the most outstanding homemade beer, mead, and cider.

Mead, an alcoholic beverage made by fermenting honey mixed with water, often with another flavors added joins the customary collection of beers, ciders and wines. At Honeypot that includes things like currants and berries. Honeypot also sells other items like local honey.

Valkyries Horn Home Mead Competition registration opens today
Valkyries Horn 2022 Home and Commercial Mead Competitions are open for registration from July 2nd until August 26th, or until paid entry caps are reached.
"Valkyries Horn 2022 will take place September 9th and 10th. in Minneapolis/St. Paul.
Our weekend for the competition has traditionally been the 3rd weekend of September. This year, we are holding the competition one week earlier to accommodate Mazer Cup’s new dates and location.
This creates a unique opportunity for judges and volunteers to efficiently participate in both competitions and there is little chance the planets will align in this way again. You can take advantage of the close proximity with an easy 6 hour drive from Minneapolis/St. Paul.
Our special category for 2022 is Foraged Ingredients!
Make a mead with ingredients you’ve gathered from the wild. Ingredients must be gathered by you or a co-meadmaker. Commercial purchases and home grown ingredients are not permitted (honey/yeast are the exceptions). NO Mushrooms. No Federally illegal or restricted substances. No harmful ingredients.
But that’s not all… We are adding a commercial competition to the proceedings.
Valkyries Horn competition strives to provide entrants with the highest level of judging and feedback using experienced and high-quality judges. This premier competition is run by mead makers for mead makers. We will provide a very high level of judging for your meads, including some of the best home and commercial mead makers in the world. However, we can’t do this alone. We would encourage you to volunteer for what we know will be a very exciting event.
The competition judging will be held September 9th and 10th.
There will be separate Home and Commercial competitions.
The competition judging will be in-person.
Registration will open later this summer.
There will be an in-person Awards ceremony on September September 10th."
